Sweet goodbuy….

So, my iPod gave out on me the other day. In the middle of my workout, it was shutting off and re-starting itself every 30 seconds. I was getting so mad because I rely on that thing to get me through my cardio. So, after the gym, I headed out to walmart to buy me a new one, and of course they are no longer making my older version of the nano (i barely bought it a year ago when they just came out with it…JEEZE!), so I had to buy a new arm band as well (tack on another $20-25) to fit the new shape. When I went to pick one out, I decided I wanted a blue one…but I didn’t want the 8G, so I asked for the 4G in blue. Apparently apple is fine-tuning their marketing techniques because you can’t buy the 4G in anything but boring old silver. So I got a silver nano. I barely use up 1G, I am not going to spend an extra 50 bucks to have my nano in blue. So, after all was said and done, I left walmart $175 poorer than when I walked in. So, this morning I was going through all of the rigamaroll to transfer my songs (yet another way apple tries to make money…making it very difficult to take songs you’ve already purchased and put them on your new device since your old one crapped out on you….let’s see $150 for the first nano + $150 for the new one + $150 to buy all of the songs I already own to put on the new one = apple making $450 off me in 1 year)…when I discover that old pinky (my old iPod) has revived and recovered from it’s previous illness…good thing I saved all the packaging and reciept and am an EXCELLENT re-packager, because this baby is going back to sit on the shelf at Wally World!!!!
Kinda Bummed…
Friday, May 23rd, 2008
So, I was actually having a great day, I made it to my group-project meeting for my speech class, then headed out from school and went straight to the gym and worked out SO stinking hard, it was the best, most thorough workout I have done in a long time. However, I was pretty bummed when I got home and opened my mail. I got a letter (which I’ve been waiting for) from my college’s financial aid center, letting me know whether or not I can get fin. aid for the summer…and it turns out I was denied. Normally, this would not be a big deal, since I am going to be returning to school in the fall anyway, but the last couple classes I need are the end of a 2 and 3-part series, and the series starts over this fall, therefore not allowing me to take these credits until NEXT SPRING…and that was when I was planning on transferring to a 4 year university. Therefore, I will not be able to transfer to a 4 year until fall of 2009, thus setting my graduation date back until the spring of 2011…I will be 26 years old.
I don’t like this at all…but, Josh and I are going to talk about it and problem solve when he gets home, so hopefully we can come up with a solution…if I don’t graduate ’till I’m 26, then I won’t get married ’till I’m 27, almost 28, meaning that I won’t have a lot of time before I will need to start making babies… ugh…this affects everything!!!
When does it end?
Monday, May 12th, 2008I have no energy left after this weekend. I wish I could just take a day off, but I have to hit the ground running this morning after a really tiring mother’s day weekend @ work (a restaurant’s busiest day of the year).
I just want to skip class today and stay home and sleep. Ugh…but I can’t. I just want to be done SOOOO badly with this quarter. Maybe if I just pretend it will go away…….I wish. Well, I’m gonna go zombie my way through class today. See ya.
CORNER!!
Monday, May 5th, 2008So, at work, since I work at a restaurant, we have to yell “CORNER!!” when we are walking around the corner to the kitchen, because if we didn’t, people would constantly be running into servers and knocking food all over the ground. So, we say ‘corner’ before we turn the corner to avoid this. Well, now, whenever I turn a corner, I have this nearly unstoppable urge to yell “CORNER!!” just in any public place I might be in…but I was thinking about it, and you know, it really wouldn’t hurt if people started doing that. It would save a lot of around-the-corner accidents, however, the consequence to implementing this would be billions of people all over the world yelling “corner” constantly in different languages. That would be really weird.
